WANDSWORTH EVICTION
It has come to our attention that Wandsworth Council has issued a threat of eviction
to a Wandsworth resident family, due to one of the family members' alleged involvement
in the London riots recently. We will be following this story closely. Click here to read the press release and correspondence from the Liberty legal team.
EMBASSY CRAWL
On Saturday 24th September the Wandsworth group hosted their annual Embassy Crawl.
We visited nine embassies from countries of North Africa, the Middle East and
the Gulf states on the theme of 'In Solidarity and Defiance'. We had was great
support from individuals and members from other local AI groups.
The event was assisted by country coordinators for the relevant countries. They prepared the letters that were sent to each embassy in advance of the event and posted again on the day or passed to a member of the embassy when someone was available. They also came along to give background information and help us chant in Arabic! We greatly appreciate their contribution.
